We stop for lunch at a sacred site. Here, locals used to hold an annual Moussem (a Moussem is a religious fair to honour a saint, but also with economic, cultural and social functions). Properly elevated and perfectly oriented, this site is perfect to rest for a while and enjoy the peace and calm.

Later, we stroll along some rocky cliffs with an interesting surface before we reach the attraction of the village: Caves!

At the top, we stop for a moment to enjoy a superb view of the distant ocean and the villages below, before slowly descending towards the end of our hike.

Shortly after we leave the busy Taghazout, our route runs along a dry river bed, a beautiful and tranquil site. Later, we come across a small water source. The trickling water attracts birds, and produces a state of serenity. Sometimes, we get to see one or two birds of prey flying along the sides of mountain ridges.
The path continues up until we reach a small dam, a solution to water scarcity that was not that successful according to locals. During summer, the reservoir dries up. Then, we walk through cultivated terraced fields to a sort of sacred site where locals used to hold an annual Moussem (a moussem is a type of annual fair with economic, cultural and social functions). The site was completely abandoned, but it hasn’t lost its appeal. Properly elevated and perfectly oriented, it offers a magnificent view of the far ocean and the villages below. In the middle, stands an incredible tree which is several hundred years old. After few hours of walking, we sit under this shady tree to rest for a little while and enjoy the tranquility – peace and quiet. Slowly, we head to the village below and take a stroll around houses, a simple way to absorb the rhythm of the everyday Berber life. The road continues to the rocky cliffs which have some interesting formations. We walk along these cliffs to visit a special attraction of the village: Caves! We reach the cliff that offers a wide coastal scenery, and from which we can see world class surf spots.  Then, we head down to the ending spot winding through lots of trees, medicinal plants and goats.
